Abstract

One of the economic impacts of technological advancement, particularly the development of the internet, is the modernization of payment systems, which enables consumers to conduct transactions without using physical cash as a payment method (cashless transactions). Electronic wallets are digital applications that allow users to store electronic money and conduct payments or other financial transactions through mobile devices. This study aimed to examine and analyze the effect of perceived risk on the intention to use electronic wallets. This study employed a quantitative approach by distributing online questionnaires to 274 respondents who were electronic wallet users aged over 17 years. The testing stages included validity testing, reliability testing, and normality testing. The data were analyzed using simple linear regression analysis. The results indicated that perceived risk significantly influenced the intention to use electronic wallets, accounting for 31.3% of the variance. The findings demonstrated that higher perceived risk among users was associated with lower intention to use electronic wallets.
